CANYON, Texas - The No.11 West Texas A&M women's soccer team found its winning ways again Saturday against Dixie State, 4-2.

However, it did not come easy for the Lady Buffs as they found themselves down at halftime 2-1. The first goal for WTAMU was scored by sophomore Elisabeth Markussen (Borkup, Denmark), who scored her eighth goal of the season.

In the second half, it took the Lady Buffs just under a minute and half to tie the match up at two on goal by senior Sarit Shenar (Rehovot, Israel). In the 72nd minute freshman Kendal Kitchens (Lubbock, Texas) took a pass from Shernar to score the game winning goal.

In goal from WTAMU was freshman Lisha Jungmann (San Antonio, Texas), who had a pair of saves. Her counterpart Suzy Hunt also had two saves, making both of them in the first half.

The Lady Buffs out shot Dixie State 13-9, six shots for WTAMU came in the first half, while seven were in the second stanza.

WTAMU with the win improves to 9-1-1, while Dixie State falls to 5-4-1. The Lady Buffs will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 6, against East Central; start time is set for 1 p.m. at Kimbrough Stadium.
