WICHITA FALLS, Texas - For the first time in 2006, the No. 11 West Texas A&M women's soccer team lost, falling to Midwestern State 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Midwestern State scored three minutes into the match on a goal by Katy Lukert, but just over seven minutes later, senior Sarit Shenar (Rehovot, Israel) scored her 15th goal on the season to tie the match at one. It would stay knotted until 71:51, and that is when Megan Bibilone scored the match winner.

The Lady Buffs had their chances putting nine shots up in the first half and five the second. Two of the five shots in the second half made it on goal, but Midwestern State's goalkeeper Ashley Meek made eight saves in nine chances.

WTAMU freshman goalkeeper Lisha Jungmann (San Antonio, Texas) made seven saves on the afternoon, while facing nine opportunities. Jungmann made four saves in the second half and three in the first.

The loss moves WTAMU to 8-1-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in the Lone Star Conference, while Midwestern State improves to 4-4-1 and 2-1-1 in conference play. The next action for the Lady Buffs is Saturday, Sept. 30, against Dixie State at noon in Kimbrough Stadium.
