ODESSA, Texas - Five Lady Buffs scored en route to another 6-0 West Texas A&M victory, this time over the Texas-Permian Basin Falcons. The WTAMU women scored five of their goals within the first 25:30 of the game and rounded out their scoring with one goal midway through the second half.

Junior Elisabeth Markussen scored two goals, raising her season total to six, while sophomore Kendal Kitchens scored her fourth goal of the season.

Sophomore Miriam Dominguez and freshman Cassie Hiser scored their third goals of the season. Additionally, Dominguez added two assists in the match.

Sophomore Jenelle Nedd also scored for West Texas A&M, her second of the season.

Dominguez opened up the scoring for WTAMU in the seventh minute with an assist from sophomore Adi Stein, then Markussen scored next, tallying her first goal in the 16th minute (assisted by Dominguez) followed by her second goal less than three minutes later.

Hiser took a pass from Dominguez and scored at 25:25, drilling a shot from 25 yards out. Nedd scored next, attacking the goal from the center of the box and finding the back of the net from 15 yards away.

The Lady Buffs' final goal in the scoring onslaught came when Kitchens took a pass from Stein and shot the ball from the right side to the bottom left corner in the 74th minute.

West Texas A&M out-shot Texas-Perrmian Basin 22-6 and the Lady Buff defense allowed just three shots on-goal; sophomore goalkeeper Lisha Jungmann made three saves in 90:00 of play.

 

 

The next game for the Lady Buffs is Sunday, when the women travel to Portales, N.M. for an LSC match-up against Eastern New Mexico.
