Lady Buffs 14th In First Round Of NSU Classic

MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- The West Texas A&M University women's golf team struggled to a 14th-place standing after the first round of the Northeastern State University Women's Golf Classic at Muskogee Golf Club at Muskogee, Okla.
WTAMU carded a combined 362 Monday in the season-debut of new head coach Meredith Easley.
Western Washington University leads the 16-team field with a 311.
Senior Rachel Clark is WTAMU's top golfer, firing a 10-over 82 to sit tied for 28th. Junior Beth Ann Nussbaum is tied for 52nd with an 87, while freshman Brittyne Clark is 73rd with a 91, while fellow freshman Stephanie Marufo is 82nd with a 91. Sophomore Madison Easley did not golf Monday due to an injury.
Western Washington's Catherine Kim leads with a 1-over 73.
The second and final round tees of Tuesday at 8 a.m.
