The West Texas A&M Univeristy golf team prepares for the NCAA-II Regional Championships next week. The men's NCAA-II South Central Regionals will be held in Valdosta, Ga., May 2-4, hosted by Valdosta State Unviersity. The women will play their NCAA-II West Regionals in Bellingham, Wash., May 2-3, hosted by Western Washington University.

Three Buffs from the men's team qualified for the event. This is the most individual qualifiers for WTAMU in several years. Seniors Josh Luongo, Chris Washburn and sophomore Paul Slaughter made the cut after their standout play this season. The 54-hole event will be played at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta.

The top team from each region within the Super Regional and the top individual not with a team from each Super Regional (regardless of region) will advance to the NCAA-II National Championships May 17-20 at The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga.

The lone Lady Buff at this year's NCAA-II West Regional Championship is senior Meredith Easley. The local standout continues to be WTAMU's top performer and will represent the school in the 54-hole event hosted by Western Washington Unviersity. The two-day tournament will be played at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

The top two teams along with the top two individuals not with a team from each Regional, will advance to the NCAA-II National Championships May 11-14 at The Championships Course at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will be hosted by Western New Mexico University.
