THACKERVILLE, Okla. - West Texas A&M junior Mollie Peterson has been named to the Lone Star Conference women’s golf Commissioner’s Honor Roll, as announced by the league Sunday night. The awards announcement came at a pre-tournament function in Thackerville, Okla., where the LSC Golf Championship will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

Peterson’s honor came in conjunction with the naming of the LSC all-Academic team.

The all-Academic team is comprised of Central Oklahoma’s Raelynn Farthing, Tarleton State’s Carla Cooper, Cameron’s Marrik Wooten and Renee Breeze and Northeastern State’s Katie Miller. Farthing was named as LSC Women’s Golf Academic Player of the Year.

Joining Peterson on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll are Cameron’s Tori McCollum; East Central’s Whitney McDaniel and Sarah Wolf; Northeastern State’s Shaunda Petree, Liz Cagle and Julie Curran; Southwestern Oklahoma’s Tasha Marshall; Tarleton State’s Melanie Tham and Texas A&M-Commerce’s Megan Benites.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average and be at least a sophomore, both academically and athletically.

The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement. All qualifying student-athletes not selected for the All-Academic Team are then named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
