CANYON, Texas -- Sitting just 38 strokes behind Cameron, the West Texas A&M women's golf team is in fifth with a 348 after the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament near Dallas/Ft. Worth. Tarleton State is in second, with a 319, while Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State are three and six strokes respectively behind the TexAnns.

Leading the way for WTAMU is Whitney Osborne, who is shooting an 84 for the first 18 and is tied for 17th. Just two swings behind Osborne is Kaylee Zaiontz, who shot a first round 86 and is tied for 21st.

In a tie for 24th is Mollie Peterson, who is just a stroke behind Zaiontz with an 87 for the first day. Rounding out the Lady Buff golfers is All-LSC honorable mention honoree Beth Nussbaum and Krista Williams, who shot a first round 91 and 104.

WTAMU will complete the LSC Tournament on Tuesday in the Metroplex.
