WTAMU Finishes Sixth At TSU Classic

GRANBURY, Texas -- Junior Beth Ann Nussbaum finished tied for 10th to pace the West Texas A&M University women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Tarleton State University Coca-Cola Classic at Harbour Lakes Country Club at Granbury, Texas.
WTAMU fired a combined 319 in the final round Tuesday to finish with a 643 (324-319), to finish sixth in the field of 14.
Host Tarleton State took top team honors with a 608 (303-305).
In the individual standings, there was a three-way tie for first that was played off and then a scorecard playoff was used to determine fourth and fifth. Alesha Hurt of Tarleton State ended up as the individual winner with a 147 (72-75), while Allison Kinser (77-70) from St. Edward's University and Emily Kirk (76-71) from the University of Central Oklahoma tied for second.
Nussbaum paced WTAMU with a 155 (81-74), while senior Rachel Clark was in a four-way tie for 14th with a 157 (80-77). Freshman Brittyne Lewis was 29th after carding a 163 (80-83) and sophomore Madison Easley was tied for 35th with a 168 (83-85). Freshman Stephanie Marufo withdrew.
Competing as an individual, freshman Korissa Cheek is tied for 59th with a 187 (90-97).
This was the Lady Buffs' final action of the fall. WTAMU returns to the golf course in the spring in preparation for the LSC Championships.
