GRANBURY, Texas -- Senior Rachel Clark and freshman Brittyne Lewis are part of a seven-way logjam for 17th-place, in leading the West Texas A&M University women's golf team to a seventh-place standing after the first round of the Tarleton State University Coca-Cola Classic at Harbour Lakes Country Club at Granbury, Texas.

WTAMU carded a combined 324 to sit in seventh, while host Tarleton State leads the 14-team field with a 303.

Individually, TSU's Alesha Hurt is leading with an even 72.

Clark and Lewis fired 8-over 80's, while junior Beth Ann Nussbaum was one stroke back with an 81, sitting in a tie for 24th. Sophomore Madison Easley was two shots behind with an 83, tying for 31st. Freshman Stephanie Marufo withdrew from the first round.

Competing as an individual, freshman Korissa Cheek is tied for 53rd with a 90.

The second and final round tees of Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

This is WTAMU's final action of the fall. The Lady Buffs return to the golf course in the spring in preparation for the LSC Championships.
