AUSTIN, Texas -- Using the boost of having two players in the top 20, the West Texas A&M University women's golf team ended up in eighth-place at the St. Edward's University Fall Invitational at Bastrop, Texas.

WTAMU recorded a combined 698 (347-351) to finish eighth in the 14-team field. Tarleton State University took top team honors with a 651 (324-327).

Individually, senior Rachel Clark fired the fourth-best round of the day to move up from a tie for 12th to finish seventh with a 163 (82-81). Sophomore Madison Easley carded a 169 (81-88), finishing in a five-way tie for 18th-place.

Junior Beth Ann Nussbaum was tied for 43rd with a 183 (92-91), while freshmen Brittyne Lewis was tied for 57th with a 191 (92-99) and fellow freshman Korissa Cheek ended up tied for 64th with a 196 (105-91).

Competing as an individual, Stephanie Marufo carded a 188 (97-91) to tie for 54th.

Kerry Self from Tarleton State was the top individual, winning a playoff with Emily Kvinta from St. Edward's, after both players finished with 156's.

WTAMU wraps up fall action next week, Oct. 10 and 11, at the Tarleton State Invitational, played at Harbour Lakes Golf Club at Weatherford, Texas.
