SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The West Texas A&M University women's golf team finished in third-place at the Drury University Invitational Tuesday at Rivercut Golf Course at Springfield, Mo.

WTAMU carded a combined 679 (341-338) to finish third in the eight-team field. Host Drury took top team honors with a 610 (302-308).

Individually, Drury's Tonya Choate won on a three-way playoff with teammate Jenny Schneider as well as Ashley Kelley from the University of Central Oklahoma, after all three tied with a 149.

The Lady Buffs had three players in the Top 20, led by sophomore Madison Easley, who finished tied for ninth with a 164 (81-83). Freshman Brittyne Lewis was tied for 12th with a 166 (83-83) and senior Rachel Clark was tied for 15th with a 168 (86-82). Junior Beth Ann Nussbaum was 29th with a 181 (91-90) and freshman Stephanie Marufo was tied for 40th with a 203 (102-101). Freshman Korissa Cheek competed as an individual and was 42nd with a 204 (107-97).

WTAMU will be competing in the St. Edward's University Invitational next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, at Bastrop, Texas.

The Lady Buffs wrap up fall action at the Tarleton State University Invitational Oct. 10-11, at Weatherford, Texas.
