Ponte Verda, Fla.- The West Texas A&M women's golf team is tied for ninth with a team total of 335 after Monday's first-round action at the Queens Invitational at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verda, Fla. Mollie Peterson (Sr., Texico, N.M.) and Hammerli Sriyai (So., Bangkok, Thailand) lead the Lady Buffs, having each shot 83 over the first round to tie for 36th, individually. Stephanie Kalapach (Fr., Saginaw, Texas) shot an 84, putting her in a tie for 44th, while Whitney Osborne (Sr., Amarillo, Texas) and Sara Coe (So., Amarillo, Texas) rounded out the scorecard for the Lady Buffs with a tie for 48th, shooting 85 to end the day.

Competing as an individual, Eva Rogers also tied for 36th, having shot an 83 over the first round of play.

Belmont Abbey and Ashland are leading the tournament, with team scores of 311. Ashland's Erin Misheff is leading the individual scoring with an even round of 72.

Second round action of the Queens Invitational is set for Tuesday morning with an 8:30 a.m. start.
