Lady Buffs Finish 14th At NSU Classic

MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- The West Texas A&M University women's golf team finished the second and final round Tuesday where they started it, as the Lady Buffs finished 14th at the Northeastern State University Women's Golf Classic at Muskogee Golf Club at Muskogee, Okla.
WTAMU carded a combined 695 (362-333) for the two-round tournament, in the season-debut of new head coach Meredith Easley.
Western Washington University took top team honors in the 16-team field with a 614 (311-303).
Senior Rachel Clark was WTAMU's top golfer, firing a 5-over 77 on Tuesday to finish with a 159 (82-77), for a tie for 21st-place. Freshman Brittyne Lewis finished tied for 52nd with a 159 (82-77), while junior Beth Ann Nussbaum was one stroke back, finishing tied for 58th with an 172 (87-85). Freshman Stephanie Marufo finished 79th with a 193 (102-97). Sophomore Madison Easley did not golf Monday or Tuesday due to an injury.
The Lady Buffs will compete in the Drury Invitational next Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 26-27 at Springfield, Mo.
