Women's Golf Places Sixth in Northeastern State Women's Classic

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The West Texas A&M women's golf team finished in sixth place at the 9th Annual Northeastern State Women's Classic, shooting a two-day total of 657 on the Cherry Golf Club's course. Sophomore Mollie Peterson shot a combined 158 - 80 in the first round, 78 in the second round - and finished in a tie for ninth place. The Lady Buffs finished just four strokes behind Western Washington, who finished with a total of 653. Whitney Osborne shot a combined 165 (84 in round one, 81 in round two) for the Lady Buffs, followed closely by Stephanie Boldger, who shot an 87 on in round one and improved by eight strokes in round two, shooting a 79 (166 total). Christal Kendrick shot a 170 (85, 85) and Madison Easley shot a 177 (85, 92). The Lady Buffs' next action is October 1-2 when they travel to Alamosa, Colo. for the Adams State Grizzly Invitational on the Cattails Golf Course.
