Lady Buffs Finish Fifth at Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic

GRANBURY, Texas – The West Texas A&M women’s golf team earned a fifth-place finish at the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic, hosted by Tarleton State, April 13-14 at the Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury, Texas. The Lady Buffs shot a two-day scores of 335-315=650, finishing just one stroke shy of fourth-place Nebraska-Omaha (337-312=649) and 21 shots back of team champion St. Edwards (331-298=629) on the par 72, 6,057-yard course. Leading the Lady Buffs was Hammerli Sriyai (freshman, Bangkok, Thailand), who shot rounds of 84-75=650 to finish in a tie for 10th place. Whitney Osborne (junior, Amarillo, Texas) placed in a tie for 16th, shooting rounds of 85-77=159. She was followed by Amanda Davidson (freshman, Ankeny, Iowa), who shot 82-81=163 to finish in a tie for 19th. Mollie Peterson (junior, Texico, N.M.) tied for 29th with scores of 84-82=166, while Lacy Torbert (senior, Hereford, Texas) finished in a tie for 34th after carding rounds of 85-83=168. Also competing were Sara Coe (freshman, Amarillo, Texas), who shot rounds of 83-88=171 to finish tied for 43rd and Stephanie Boldger (senior, Houston, Texas) who tied for 55th place after carding an 83-92=175. West Texas Community College’s Katie Mundey took top individual honors, with rounds of 81-68=149, while Dallas Baptist’s Heather Wilbur (77-72=149) placed second, while St. Edwards’ Emily Kvinta (79-71=150) was third. Next up for the Lady Buffs will be the Lone Star Conference Championships, to be held April 20-21 at the Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla.
