Whitney Agee was the high point rider on day two

CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M equestrian team closed out its last two regular season Western Shows over the weekend at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. The Lady Buffs finished second on Saturday, while tying for first on Sunday.

On Saturday, Katie Sorenson was the lone first place rider for WTAMU, as she won the Beginning Horsemanship Event. Amy Thompson and Peggy Schwertner both placed second in their respective events. Thompson also earned High Point honors on Saturday in the Open Reining Show.

The Lady Buffs on Sunday had five first place riders, led by Whitney Fouts and Errolynne Franck in the Advanced Horsemanship Show. Josie Norwood was the top finisher in Intermediate Horsemanship, while Sorenson and Kassidy Barlow tied for first in Beginning Horsemanship.

Whitney Agee was the High Point Rider on day two, as she took home second place honors in the Open Reining Show and Open Horsemanship Event.

The western squad leads the region in points, and will be back in action on March 3 and 4 at Texas Tech.
