WTAMU Horse Center Hub Of Women's Equestrian Action Feb. 19 & 20

The West Texas A&M University women's equestrian team plays host to 13 schools from Zone VII-Region 2 this Saturday, February 19 at the WTAMU Horse Center in Canyon beginning at 8 a.m and the second show starting at 3 p.m. Sunday's day of competition will be a single varsity head-to-head against the University of South Carolina starting at 9 a.m.
120 riders will compete in the single day show this Saturday from 13 different schools besides WTAMU such as Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Tech University, North Central Texas College, Texas State University, Southern Nazarene University, Stephen F. Austin University, Trinty University, Louisiana State, Texas A&M University-Commerce and Rice University.
In their last competition the Lady Buff Riders finished fourth on the first day and then moved up to the third spot on the Sunday at Oklahoma State's Hunter competition Feb 5 & 6. Sophomore JoAnna Pazderny took first place for the Lady Buff Riders in the novice fences category on the second day of competition at the Animal Science Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
WTAMU heads back to the road when they travel to Lubbock, Texas March 5 to compete in the Texas Tech Show for the Western style team before traveling down to College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M Western Show March 12. The Regional Championships on April 1 will be hosted by WTAMU as riders that have qualified throughout the season try to move on to the Zone Championships at CSU on April 22.
