The West Texas A&M University Lady Buff Riders will open their spring season by hosting two Western Shows this weekend at the WTAMU Horse Center Saturday, Feb. 11 starting at 8 a.m. After a long break from competition since November, the Lady Buff Equestrians are ready to get back into the saddle.

The WTAMU Western equestrian team is currently sitting in second place in their zone, and hope to capture some first place awards before regionals. Krissy Mailman, a sophomore advanced rider, is expected to compete well this weekend. Other riders to watch include Kristine Thompson, junior intermediate rider, and senior rider Tessa Gamble.

Following the home show this weekend the Lady Buffs will be traveling to Las Cruces, N.M. for two more Western shows on Feb. 25 and 26.
