Lady Buff Riders Fare Well At Western Regionals

The West Texas A&M University Western Equestrian team traveled to Cheyenne, Wyo., this past weekend to compete in the Western Regional Championship Show, and fared quite well with three riders advancing.
The Lady Buff riders who competed in the Regional Show were Amy Thompson, Krissy Mailman, Cara Scogin, Courtney Douglas and Meghan Mackey. Out of the five riders three riders qualified for Zones and they include Amy Thompson, freshman open rider, Krissy Mailman, advanced sophomore rider, and Courtney Douglas, junior novice rider. Douglas captured the Regional Champion title as she placed first in her novice rail class.
The hunt seat and the western teams will travel to Stillwater, Okla., on April 9th to compete in the Zone Championship show, hosted by Oklahoma State University. In this show, the riders will have to capture first or second place to advance to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Show May 4-7 in Harrisburg, Pa.
