Lady Riders Finish Last Regular Season Points Show In Third Place

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The West Texas A&M women's equestrian team finished its last regular season point scoring western show this weekend in third place behind first place Texas A&M University and second place Oklahoma State. The Lady Riders finished with 20 points as Texas A&M had 25 and Oklahoma State had 23. This show is the last regular show before heading into Regional competition March 28, at College Station, Texas.
In the first show of the day on March 6, the Lady Riders finished in first place with 23 points. Junior Tayla Dunn took the high point rider for her first place finish in the reining section, section I of the show.
WTAMU finished in third place in the second show of the day with a total of four points as sophomore Ashley Greer finished first in the Intermediate II Horsemanship, section I.
In the last day of regular scorng points competition on March 7, the Lady Riders again finished in third place, 18 points for a cumulative 20 points for the weekends western show. Dunn finished in first place in the Open Horsemanship, section I, and earned the high point rider for a second time this weekend, tying with Kayla Elmenhorst, Oklahoma State.
The Lady Riders will enter post-season competition as they compete in the Regional show on March 28 as they return to College Station.
