The WTAMU Equestrian hunt seat team placed third in their region, as four of the six Lady Buff regional riders qualifed for the Zone Championship show.

The West Texas A&M University Equestrian hunt seat team completed their season and regional show this past weekend. The team finished in third place out of 13 schools in their region. At the completion of the regional show on Sunday four out of the six regional riders qualified for Zone Championship Show, which will be held at Oklahoma State University on April 9.

During the last two regular season hunt seat shows on Saturday, senior open rider Meghan Mackey was first over fences in the first show and freshman open rider Whitney Fouts captured first place in the second show in Saturday over fences.

Earning spots to the Zone Championship Show and continuing their season are Mackey, sophomore Catherine Brown, junior JoAnna Pazderny, and sophomore Stephanie Gilbert.

These hunt seat and western zone qualifiers will be traveling to Oklahoma State University April 9. Western regionals will be held March 18 at Laramie County Community College.
