Senior Stephanie James won the Walk-Trot-Canter show

LONGMONT, Colo - With four first place finishers and three individual champions, the West Texas A&M equestrian team won the Hunt Seat Show for a regional championship last weekend.

During Saturday's show, Lady Buff junior rider Kristine Thompson won the Advanced Walk-Trot Canter, while freshman Kathryne Sorenson received the top spot in the Walk-Trot show. Junior Catherine Brown and freshman Amanda Hess won first in the Intermediate and Walk-Trot events respectively on Sunday.

The three individual WTAMU champions were led by sophomore Whitney Fouts, who won the Open Equitation on the Flat, while junior Catherine Brown placed first in the novice Equitiation over Fences show and Stephanie James was the top finisher in the Walk-Trot-Canter event.

The Lady Buffs will be back in action on Feb. 17 and 18 at the Colorado Hunter Regionals, hosted by the University of Colorado.
