Brister Tabbed As LSC Female Athlete of the Year
Brister Named Fred Jacoby Female Academic Athlete of the Year RICHARDSON, Texas - West Texas A&M basketball star Emily Brister and Central Oklahoma baseball standout Andrew Foshee were chosen as the 2009 Lone Star Conference Fred Jacoby Academic Athletes of the Year. The awards were announced Tuesday following a vote of the league's sports information directors. WTAMU's Brister and UCO's Foshee are just the second recipients of the award bearing the name of Jacoby, the long-time LSC commissioner who passed away in March 2008. Lady Buff Basketball Adds Five Players to Roster CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M women's basketball coach Krista Gerlich has announced the signing of Ariel Robertson of Cedar Hill, Texas (Cedar Hill High) and Brittany Williams of Sudan, Texas (Sudan High) to national letters-of-intent to attend WTAMU and play for the Lady Buffs during the 2009-10 academic year. In addition to the signees, Division I transfers Madelyn Brown of Rochester, N.Y. (Texas Tech) and Aly Sherman of Mt. Vernon, Texas (Central Arkansas) are set to join the 2009-10 Lady Buff Roster. Also joining the 2009-10 squad is Megan Janousek of The Woodlands, Texas (College Park High). These players join previously signed Callie Schneider.
