CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M Women's Basketball team will open up its defense of the 2005-06 Lone Star Championship on November 3-5 as the Lady Buffs have been selected as one of eight schools to participate in Disney's Division II Women's Tip-Off Classic.

The event which will be held in Orlando, Fla., at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex will feature three teams that finished the 2005-06 season ranked in the WBCA Coaches Poll Top 25. The Lady Buffs, who were ranked 16th at the end of last season, are joined by No. 8 North Dakota and No. 24 Stonehill College.

Lone Star Conference rival Texas A&M-Commerce highlights the rest of the field, which includes Felician College, North Georgia College & State University, Augustana College and Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.

West Texas A&M will kick off the tournament with a 2 p.m. (EST) match-up with Felician on Friday, Nov. 3, and will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 4, against Augustana at 12 p.m. (EST). The Lady Buffs conclude play in Orlando at 2 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Nov. 5, when they face Stonehill.
