WTAMU Basketball South Central Regional Information

Both the West Texas A&M University women's and men's basketball teams will be playing in their respective NCAA-II South Central Regional Tournaments this weekend. The 17th-ranked and second-seeded Lady Buffs will be traveling to Topeka, Kan. for their Regional, hosted by Washburn University. The fourth-seeded Buffs will head to Bolivar, Mo. for their Regional action, hosted by Southwest Baptist University.
The Lone Star Conference Champion Lady Buffs are the No. 2 seed and will take on seventh-seeded and LSC foe Northeastern State University on Friday at 2 p.m. at Topeka, Kan., hosted by top-seed Washburn University, the top-ranked team in the country and the defending NCAA-II national champions.
The LSC Champion Buffs are the fourth seed and will take on fifth-seeded Northwest Missouri State University on Saturday at 6 p.m., at Bolivar, Mo., hosted by top-seed Southwest Baptist University.
Fans are invited to join the Buffs & Lady Buffs on Tuesday night at Feldman's Wrong Way Diner in Canyon. Come by for dinner and wish the teams and coaches good luck as they enter the NCAA Division II Championship tournaments this weekend.
WOMEN
The women's bracket tips off Friday, March 10, with third-seeded Emporia State University (25-4) against No. 6 seeded Tarleton State University (19-9) at Noon.
The Lady Buffs will face LSC foe Northeastern State (18-10) at 2 p.m. Friday.
The evening session opens with fourth-seeded Angelo State University (22-8) facing No. 5 seeded Central Missouri State University (21-9) at 5:30 p.m.
The host and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Champion Washburn (30-0), the top seed and No. 1 in the country, as well as the defending national champions, will face Heartland Conference Champion St. Mary's University (17-12) at 7:30 p.m. to close out the first-round of action.
The winners of the WTAMU/NSU and ESU/TSU games will advance to play on Saturday, March 11 at 5 p.m. The winner of the WU/SMU and ASU/CMSU games will battle at 7 p.m.
The South Central Regional Championship game will tip-off at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13.
The winner of that game will advance to the NCAA-II Women's Elite Eight March 22, 23 and 25 at Hot Springs, Ark.

MEN
In the men's bracket, third-seeded Central Missouri State University opens action against sixth-seeded Tarleton State University on Saturday, March 11 at Noon. The 2:30 p.m. game pits second-seeded Tarleton State University against No. 7 seeded University of Central Oklahoma, in a rematch of the LSC Tournament semifinals.
WTAMU, the fourth-seed, faces fifth-seed Northwest Missouri at 6 p.m., followed by host and top-seeded Southwest Baptist against No. 8 seeded St. Edward's University.
The regional semifinals take place on Sunday, March 12, with the CMSU/TSU winner facing the UCO/TSU winner at 5 p.m.
The WTAMU/NWMSU winner takes on the SBU/SEU winner at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday's winners advance to the Regional Championship game on Tuesday, March 14 at 7 p.m.
The South Central Regional Champion advances to the NCAA-II Men's Elite Eight, March 22, 23 and 25 at Springfield, Mass.
