CANYON, Texas - Junior All-American Emily Brister was rewarded with her third Lone Star Conference South Player of the Week honor as she continued her offensive prowess last week, setting two new school records en route to helping the No. 16 West Texas A&M women's basketball team round out regular season play with two wins. The wins improved WT's record to 23-4 overall and a league-best 13-1 in LSC action.

Brister surpassed former Lady Buff Celeste Stevenson's 1,988 career points as she recorded 25 points to reach 1,993 in WT's 60-58 victory over Abilene Christian on Feb. 27, then she went on to become the first Lady Buff to score 2,000 or more points in a career as she tallied 15 points against Texas Woman's to finish the weekend with a career tally of 2,008 points as the Lady Buffs beat the Pioneers, 66-63.

Additionally, the Amarillo, Texas, native recorded a double-double in each of WT's wins as she pulled down 12 rebounds against ACU and 13 against TWU.

After their win over Abilene Christian clinched the LSC South Division regular season crown and the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament, the Lady Buffs head to Bartlesville, Okla., set to face Southeastern Oklahoma in the opening round of the tournament. Tip-off from Bruin Field House is set for 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
