WBB NOTES: No. 17 WTAMU Faces Cameron In Home Game Tuesday In First Round Of LSC Tournament in PDF Format

The No. 17 West Texas A&M University Lady Buff basketball team will play host to Cameron University this Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament. In the event of WTAMU winning Tuesday, the Lady Buffs would host the rest of the LSC Tournament which would take place on Friday and Saturday. Game time Tuesday night will be at 6 p.m. at the First United Bank Center and will be followed by the WTAMU men's first-round LSC Tournament game between the Buffs and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

WTAMU, the top seed from the South, hosts Cameron, the fourth seed from the North, in one of four LSC Tournament quarterfinal contests. {See Page 8 of game notes for complete LSC Tournament Bracket}

The Lady Buffs are making their 13th-straight LSC Tournament appearance, while the Lady Aggies are making their second trip in three years.

WTAMU is 24-3 overall, currently on a season-long nine game win streak and has won 14 of the last 15. The Lady Buffs ended LSC South play with a 13-1 ledger after blasting Tarleton State University Saturday night with a convincing 90-57 win. WTAMU's win on Saturday night clinched the Lady Buffs second South title in the last three years.

At home this season, the Lady Buffs finished unbeaten during the regular season while playing on their home court with a 12-0 and are currently on a 16-game home winning streak, dating back to last year. WTAMU has won 17 of its last 19 home games.

The Lady Buffs have reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth-straight season and 19th time in WTAMU head coach Bob Schneider's 25 seasons.

WTAMU is ranked No. 17 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Poll, moving up two spots from last week after winning all three games last week. The Lady Buffs also moved up one spot to No. 2 in the NCAA-II South Central Regional Rankings, which determine the 8-team field for the South Central Regional Tournament, along with automatic bids issued to conference champions. Cameron is ranked No. 10 in this week's rankings.
