CANYON, Texas - After clinching a berth in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Tournament with its wins over Midwestern State and Eastern New Mexico last week, the West Texas A&M women's basketball team continues its four-game home stand by hosting Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday.

With their wins last week, the Lady Buffs remain atop the LSC South standings with a 9-1 record in league play in addition to a 19-4 overall ledger.

Junior All-American Emily Brister led WT as she recorded team-highs in points (41), rebounds (15), steals (8) and blocks (3); her point tally came from 13-of-31 (.419) shooting from the floor and 14-of-15 (.933) made free throws. Brister's prowess helped WT hold its opponents to an average of 54.0 points per game while averaging 83.5 points of its own.

In the first meeting between the LSC South rivals, the Lady Buffs traveled to the Javelinas' Steinke Center and won by an 88-71 margin. On Wednesday, TAMUK comes to Canyon with an overall record of 6-17 and a 2-8 conference ledger, despite having three players averaging in double-digit scoring. Felicia Soza and LaKeisha Jones lead the way with 11.3 points per game each, while Lana Toki has an average of 10.2. Additionally, Toki has tallied team-highs in rebounds (173, 7.5 rpg) and blocks (11) while being third on the team in assists (32).
