The No. 17 West Texas A&M University Lady Buff basketball team heads back on the road this weekend for one of the most important Lone Star Conference South Division games of the season. The Lady Buffs, currently sitting in first place in the division, will lock horns with the Rambelles of Angelo State University, who are sitting in a tie for second place in the South. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. in San Angelo at ASU's Junell Center/Stephens Arena (5,500).

WTAMU is 21-3 overall and 10-1 in LSC South play and is currently sitting in first place in the LSC South standings, one game ahead of Angelo State and Tarleton State University, who are tied for second with 9-2 LSC South marks. ASU is 18-6 overall, while TSU is 16-8.

WTAMU leads the all-time series match-up with Angelo State, 26-10, as the Lady Buffs' 67-65 win on Jan. 21 snapped ASU's four-game win streak in the series. The Rambelles have won eight of the last 12, including six in a row at San Angelo. WTAMU's last win on ASU's home court was a 93-80 win on Jan. 8, 2000.

The Lady Buffs have reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth-straight season and 19th time in WTAMU head coach Bob Schneider's 25 seasons.

WTAMU is ranked No. 17 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Poll, moving up two spots from last week after winning all three games last week. The Lady Buffs also moved up one spot to No. 2 in the NCAA-II South Central Regional Rankings, which determine the 8-team field for the South Central Regional Tournament. ASU is ranked No. 4 in the region rankings.
