CANYON, Texas -Members of the West Texas A&M women's basketball team have been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom.

Three Lady Buffs were selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team. Emily Brister (senior, guard, Amarillo, Texas) received first team honors, while teammates Holly Isaacs (junior, guard, Brownfield, Texas) and Jamie Dreiling (senior, forward, Lake Kiowa, Texas) earned second team accolades.

Last season, Brister, an education major from Amarillo, Texas captured the top honor of first team Academic All-American and is eligible to earn the title again this season. Her name will appear on the ballot for All-American honors when voting begins on Feb. 10. Brister boasts a 3.91 GPA.

This season marks the first time that both Isaacs and Dreiling received All-District honors from ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA. Isaacs currently boasts a 4.0 and is a pre-pharmacy major. Dreiling is majoring in education and is carrying a 3.6 GPA.

The Lady Buffs continue regular season action Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, as they travel to Portales, N.M. to take on Eastern New Mexico. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
