WTAMU won its third in a row and improved to 7-2 overall while Adams State lost for the fourth time in the last five games and slipped to 3-8. This was the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Stevenson registered her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career with game highs of 25 points (14 in the first half) and 13 rebounds, while senior guard Suni Jo Petty netted 18 points and senior forward Vasha Adams posted 12 points.

Adams State also had three players in double-figures, led by Alesha Anderson's 16 points, while Jaclyn Dee chipped in with 11 points off the bench, and Meagan Hoffman tallied 10.

WTAMU shot 26-57 (45.6 percent) from the field, including 4-8 (50.0 percent) from behind the 3-point arc. The Lady Buffs were 16-23 (69.6 percent) from the free throw line.

ASC was 22-51 (43.1 percent) field goal shooting, including 11-25 (44.0 percent) from 3-point land. The Grizzlies were 9-12 (75.0 percent) from the charity stripe.

The Lady Buffs had a commanding 48-27 rebounding advantage, as WTAMU tied a season-high total on the boards. A big difference in the scoring was in the paint, as WTAMU outscored ASC, 42-20, down low.

A steal and layup from junior forward Keisha Monroe with 13:27 left in the half gave the Lady Buffs a 15-9 advantage, but the Grizzlies clawed back to take a 32-26 lead at the 4:25 mark after a 3-pointer from Anderson.

WTAMU bounced back to take a 35-34 halftime lead and opened the second half with a 7-2 streak to take a 42-36 lead after a putback from Adams with 17:47 left in the game.

The lead was shortlived though, as scrappy ASC just wouldn't go away, later taking a 52-50 lead at 8:37 on a jumper from Anderson.

With the scored knotted at 53-all, the Lady Buffs pulled away with an 8-0 run, capped by a layup from Adams with 4:34 left and the Grizzlies never cut the cap under five points from there on.
