Jim Wilcoxson, former Randall High School head girl's basketball coach will return on to sidelines this season as an assistant to Krista Gerlich with the Lady Buff Basketball program.

Wilcoxson began his coaching career in 1983 as an assistant at Amarillo College before taking the head job at Class A Booker High School in 1984. He also helped coach his daughters, Kim and Jami, in the Amarillo youth league.

From 1989 to 2004, Wilcoxson roamed the Randall Raider coaching box, where he won two Texas 4A State Titles in 1992 and 1998. He also coached Randall to 15 straight playoff appearances and amassed over 500 career wins, including a three-year coaching stint at Tascosa High School.

In all, Wilcoxson won nine district titles and lead teams to the Texas State playoffs 18 times, missing the postseason only once.

Wilcoxson is a Childress, Texas, native and played golf and basketball for Childress High School, before attending Texas Tech where he played on a golf scholarship from 1963-1967. Wilcoxson returned to school to receive his degree in education from West Texas A&M in 1985.

Wilcoxson and his wife Nicki have been married for 42 years and the couple also has two grandchildren Jordi (11) and Cole (6). Wilcoxson's duties include working with the guards, breaking down film and helping in the recruiting process
