2007-2008 (Junior):
After being selected as the Lone Star Conference and Division II Bulletin Preseason Player of the Year, Brister went on to her third record setting season as a Lady Buff. She started all 31 games and averaged 21.8 points per game, totaling 675 points in her junior season. She broke a WT record for career scoring with a total of 2106, smashing the previous record of 1988 set by Celeste Stevenson from 2001-2005. Brister also holds career records in scoring average at 21.94 points per game, and the career steals average at 3.38 per game. She is also poised to take the top position in several other career categories. Brister led the team in all scoring categories including free throws with 198-232 (.853), and now holds the top three spots in free throws made in a season. For the third consecutive year, she was recognized as honorable mention all-American by WBCA, 2008 LSC Female Athlete of the Year, and 2008 LSC South Division Player of the year. For the second consecutive year, she received All-Region Player of the Year accolades as well as LSC Academic Player of the Year recognition. She was chosen to the Daktronics All-American first team, first team All- Academic, and LSC South Division first team. Brister was also honored as the Inaugural Fred Jacoby Academic Athlete of the Year.
2006-2007 (Sophomore):
Brister started in all 33 games in her sophomore campaign and scored 755 points for an average of 22.9 points per game. She pulled down 4.8 rebounds per game, averaged 2.7 assists per game, and led the squad in steals (97) and three-pointers made (84). Brister was the team's high-scorer in all but seven games and had a season-high 36 points against conference foe Tarleton State on February 21. She recorded three double-doubles and was second on the team in blocks (21). She led the Lone Star Conference in scoring, was fifth in free throw percentage (.850) and her 97 steals placed her in second. For the second consecutive year, she was recognized as honorable mention All-American by WBCA, 2007 LSC Female Athlete of the Year and 2007 LSC South Division Player of the Year. She also earned first team All-Conference honors and was named to the LSC All-Tournament Team. Additionally, she was named first team All-America by Daktronics and 2006-07 Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year. Brister earned a number of academic honors, as well, including Academic All-District VI First Team (by CoSida/ESPN The Magazine), LSC All-Academic and LSC South Division Academic Player of the Year and was named as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar in a Spring issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
2005-2006 (Freshman):
In her freshman season, Brister led the team in scoring with 21 points per game. She started and played in all 32 games leading the team with 205 made field goals and 70 three point field goals. She led the nation in steals with 4.1 a game and recorded 132 steals, which tied the school record. Brister also set a new school record for free throws made in a season. She was named LSC South Division Player of the Year and LSC Freshman of the Year and also nabbed LSC Tournament MVP honors. She was named to the All- LSC South Division and over the summer, she was named LSC Athlete of the Year. Brister was selected as a third team All-American and Kodak/Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-American list as well as the Daktronics All-South Central Region Team and third team All-American.
High School:
Brister was the Player of the Year for District 2-5A at Amarillo HS, earning first-team Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-Region and first-team Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State accolades as a senior, after averaging 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals per game. She was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year All-District performer and played in the Texas Golden Spread High School All-Star Tournament, leading the West squad to a third-place finish, netting 25 points in the Consolation game and earning All-Tournament honors.
