WTAMU Men's Harriers At NMSU Classic Saturday
Sept. 16, 2005
The West Texas A&M University men's cross country team travels to Las Cruces, New Mexico on Saturday to compete in the New Mexico State University Kachina Classic. The 7,400-meter race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will include a field of 10 other teams.
The meet should be a good test for the Buffs as they run against Division I schools NMSU, University of New Mexico and UTEP. Other school running include Eastern New Mexico University, New Mexico Junior College, El Paso Community College, College of the Southwest, Western New Mexico University, Palo Alto College and University of Texas at Permian Basin.
WTAMU has not competed in cross-country competition since the Buffalo Stampede in Canyon on Sept. 2. The Buffs did not have enough runners to qualify for the team standings with only two runners. For WTAMU, Victor Duran was 19th with a 25:58, while Ryne Erickson was 21st with a 27:52.
The Buffs' next competition is on Sept. 24 at the New Mexico Highlands Invite in Las Vegas, N.M.
