The West Texas A&M University men's and women's cross country teams gear up to compete in their second meet of the season, as the WT harriers head off to Abilene, Texas to compete in the Abilene Christian Invite on Friday, Sept. 12.

WTAMU will join six other teams in the meet, including Lone Star Conference foes Eastern New Mexico, Angelo State, Tarleton State and host Abilene Christian. Also competing will be Dallas Norwood and McMurray State.

The women will start their 5k trek at 5:30 p.m., with the men running their four mile course at 6 p.m.

Last weekend, the WT harriers participated in the Buffalo Jamboree, where Santiago Bustillos (JR, El Paso, Texas) placed 6th with a time of 29:53.00, to lead the Buffalo men. The WT men finished fourth in the team standings.

Another strong finisher for WT was Jami Hutcherson (SR, Canyon, Texas), who led the WT women with a time of 22:35.00, and a 15th-place finish.
