Richardson, Texas - The West Texas A&M Buffs find themselves toward the bottom of the Lone Star Conference preseason men's cross country poll announced by conference officials Thursday.

 

The Buffs received 71 points and are listed ahead of Eastern New Mexico with 63 points and Texas A&M-Kingsville with 43 points. Abilene Christian tops the poll and received all 24 first-place votes for a total of 216 points. Tarleton State follows with 174 points and Texas A&M-Commerce is listed third with 162 points.

 

East Central picked up the fourth spot with 134 points followed by Angelo State with 117 points and Cameron rounds out the poll in sixth place with 100 points.

 

The Buffs open their season on Sept. 12 at the Buffalo Stampede in Canyon, Texas. Races are set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
