Buff Runners Finish Fifth At Angelo State Classic

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- The West Texas A&M University men's cross country team finished in fifth-place at the Angelo State University Blue and Gold Classic Tuesday evening, held at the San Angelo Regional Airport course at San Angelo, Texas.
WTAMU finished with 119 points to claim fifth-place in the six-team field. Host Angelo State took top honors with 16 points, one place off a perfect score.
Individually, Trent Joseph won the five mile race with a time of 26:13.
WTAMU junior Victor Duran was 10th (28:43), while freshman Jose Valesquez was 22ne (30:14). Freshman Daniel Loya was 30th (31:51), while freshman Billy Emmert was 32nd (32:02) and junior Ryne Ericson was 37th (35:18).
This was the Buffs' final tune up for the Lone Star Conference Championships on Oct. 22 at Weatherford, Okla.
