South Plains, SIPI Win at New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam Saturday

SIPI men's and South Plains women's cross country teams won the New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam today at Las Vegas, N.M.

Angelo Baca of SIPI took the top score for the men with a run of 25:46:00, and Adeh Mwamba of South Plains ran 0:17:45, for a first place finish in the women's race.

In the men's race, SIPI finished with 42 points, followed by NM Highlands (59), ENMU (73), DINE (73), and South Plains (NS).

South Plains woomen tallied 33 points which were followed by NM Highlands (41), NMJC (87), ENMU (89), SIPI (107), and DINE (189).

The West Texas A&M University men's cross country team finished fifth out of six teams with 121 points, while the Lady Buffs finished sixth out of seven teams with 154 points.

Buffs junior Carmelo Morales finished in 21st with a run time of 28:48:00.

Lady Buffs senior Jami Hutcherson finished in 12th with a time of 21:00:00.
