WT Soccer Garners Academic All-District Honors

CANYON, Texas - Two Buffs and two Lady Buffs have been honored by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Director's Association) and ESPN The Magazine with spots on their annual Academic All-District teams, released Thursday. All winners have not only excelled in the classroom, but on the pitch as well. On the men's side, juniors Jacob Fynboe Jensen (Horsens, Denmark) and Oliver Mulamba (Albertson, South Africa) both grabbed a spot on the College Division team. Jensen is a General Business major with a 3.89 grade point average, while Mulamba is a Pre-Engineering major with a 3.52 GPA. On the women's side, Taylor Cromeens (Junior, El Paso, Texas) was named to the first team, while Eti Sages (Senior, Rishon Lezion, Israel) was honored with a spot on the second team. Cromeens is an English major with a 3.81 GPA, while Sages is majoring in Accounting at WT with a 3.77 GPA. The Lady Buffs return to action on Oct. 31 as they travel to Abilene, Texas for an LSC showdown with Abilene Christian, kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Both teams are fighting for a spot in the Lone Star Conference tournament, with the top six teams making the field, while the Lady Buffs, who are currently second in the standings, are hoping to host the LSC tournament. The Buffs finish out regular season play on Nov. 5 and Nov. 9 as they host their last two home games against Eastern New Mexico and #1 Midwestern State. The match against the top ranked Mustangs on Nov. 9 will also be senior day at The Pitch. Game time against ENMU will be 3:00 p.m., while senior day activities will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Nov. 9.
