The West Texas A&M Buffs shut-out St. Edward's, 3-0, in their season opener Thursday evening in front of 350 fans in Austin, Texas.

Victor Olivares (SR, Juarez, Mexico) started off the scoring early for the Buffs in the 15:00 minute from 30 yards out off a header from teammate Jacob Fynboe Jensen (SR, Horsens, Denmark).

After the half, Olivares continued his scoring streak off a one-timer cross from Jensen in the 59:00 minute. Dominic Furness (SO, Middlesbrough, England) added another goal to seal the victory off a cross from Freddy Dominguez (JR, El Paso, Texas) in the 74:00 minute.

Shane Taylor (JR, Keller, Texas) went the complete 90:00 minutes in goal for the Buffs preserving the shutout with 1 save and picking up the win (1-0).

The Buffs travel to Odessa, Texas to face the Falcons of UT- Permian Basin on August 30, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CDT.
