Tourville Joins WT Soccer Coaching Staff

CANYON, Texas - Bringing a wealth of experience from several stops at different levels of the game, the West Texas A&M soccer staff will be boosted during the upcoming season by the addition of Glen Tourville as assistant soccer coach. "Glen is a great addition to our staff," said WT head coach Butch Lauffer. "He brings a lot of experience on both the men's and women's side as he has coached at the college, professional and Olympic Development regional levels." Tournville has served as a head coach at the NCAA Division III level, the last 10 coming at Hendrix College, in Conway, Ark., where he coach both the men's and women's teams from 1997-2006 and just the men's team during the 2007 season. Additionally, Tourville was the head men's coach at Aurora University from 1992-97, earning his bachelor's degree in corporate and professional communication from the school in 1993. During his time in the Chicago area, he served as a coach for the Rockford Raptors, a USISL professional team. He holds his "A" license from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) as well as his goalkeepers license from the USSF. Moreover, Tourville has received his Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and was a member of the technical study group for the 1994 F.I.F.A. World Cup. At the Olympic Development level, Tourville currently holds the position of US Girls Youth (1992) Region II Coach, a post he has held since 1995. In addition, he has served along with Lauffer on the coaching staff of the Region III Boys ODP team. Although never establishing himself as a regular, Tourville played professionally with the San Diego Sockers reserve teamof the Major Indoor Soccer League and the Houston Dynamos, Oklahoma City Slickers and Dallas Americans of the American Soccer League. Tourville and his wife Paula, have three children - Micaela, Chase and Austin.
