WICHITA FALLS, Texas -

The MSU defense was too much for WT to handle on Friday afternoon, as the #2 Midwestern State Mustangs defeated WT, 1-0, in front of 815 fans at the MSU Soccer Field in Wichita Falls, Texas. The loss drops the Buffs to 8-5 overall with a 2-2 mark in the Southwest Soccer Conference.

The first half was a defensive battle by both teams, as the Buffs were held without a shot until 6:00 minutes into the second period. The teams went into the locker room at halftime with a 0-0 tie.

The lone goal of the match came in the 46:00 minute, as MSU's Robert Swann scored on a free kick to give the Mustangs the 1-0 lead.

Sebastian Furness (Freshman, Middlesbrough, England) picked up the loss in goal for West Texas A&M, tallying five saves on 15 Midwestern State shots.

The Buffs return to action on Oct. 24 as they travel for a SSC matchup with Missouri Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CDT.
