CANYON, Texas - The WT men's soccer team continued their road trip on Monday afternoon, as they defeated #24 Incarnate Word, 1-0, in front of 150 fans on a wet day in San Antonio, Texas. The Buffs improve to 8-4 overall, while the Cardinals fall to 6-5 on the season.

The entire match was a defensive battle, as both teams only took 14 shots on the day. Sebastian Furness (Freshman, Middlesbrough, England) tallied two saves on just five UIW shots in goal for West Texas A&M in the shutout.

Ben Everson (Sophomore, Middlesbrough, England) scored the only goal of the match in the 88:00 minute off a pass from Victor Olivares (Freshman, Juarez, Mexico).

The Buffs return to action on Oct. 17 as they travel to Wichita Falls, Texas for a showdown with SSC rival Midwestern State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The WT and MSU showdown marks the first meeting since the Mustangs defeated the Buffs, 1-0, last season in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship match.
