#11 Buffs Edged 3-2 In OT At CSU-Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. -- For the second match in a row, the West Texas A&M University men's soccer team lost after holding a 2-0 lead, as the 11th-ranked Buffs were edged, 3-2, in overtime at Colorado State University-Pueblo Sunday at Pueblo, Colo.
On Friday, WTAMU had lost at Metro State College, 5-3, after leading 2-0 as well. The Buffs are now 7-3 overall, while CSU-P improves to 4-6-1.
Senior All-American forward Josh Fender scored both of the Buffs' goals, getting a header in the 19th minute to put WTAMU ahead, 1-0, where it remained for the first half, as WTAMU outshot CSU-P, 11-1. In the 54th minute, Fender had another header for a goal, this time off a long pass from sophomore midfielder Tomer Otor, for a 2-0 advantage.
CSU-P got on the board in the 73rd minute, and got the equalizer in the 86th minute, to force overtime, consisting of two 10-minute periods.
In the second overtime period, the Thunderwolves netted the game winner in the 108th minute.
WTAMU returns to Colorado next weekend, when the Buffs travel to Durango, Colo. There, they'll meet Colorado School of Mines on Friday, Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m., and then take on the host, Fort Lewis College on Sunday, Oct. 9, also at 2:30 p.m.
The Buffs return home to resume Southwest Soccer Conference on Oct. 14 and 16, hosting St. Edward's University and traditional rival Midwestern State University, respectively. Both matches will be at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
