2008: Even though he saw limited time on the pitch (11 games), Montes still managed to take two shots while holding the back line for the Buffs' defense. 2007: Montes became a fixture on the field for the Buffs, as he saw action in all 20 matches in 2007. He picked up his only assist of the season on Oct. 19 against Missouri Southern. Montes took nine shots in 2007, three of them landing on goal. 2006: Started in 17 of 19 games in his first season at WTAMU while helping the defense hold opponents to just 75 shots on goal. Opponents shot .124 on the season and were held to just 8.5 shots per game. Montes picked up his first collegiate assist at Missouri Southern on Oct. 13. High School: Graduated from El Paso (Texas) Eastwood HS. Named first team all-City for three seasons, and team MVP for two seasons. Montes helped lead the Troopers to the playoffs as a junior. He also ran cross-country all four years. Major: Montes is a Sports & Exercise Science major at West Texas A&M.
