2009: Everson led the Buffs to their highest national ranking ever in the program's 19 year history. Everson blasted a season and team high 15 goals and tallied one assist for a team leading point total of 31 points. Everson was named LSC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals in the Buffs 7-1 victory over UT-Permian Basin Sept. 13. Everson earned a flawless hat trick, scoring four consecutive goals, in the Buffs 5-0 shutout against St. Mary's on Sept. 27. Everson was named to the all-LSC first team as well as the LSC Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Everson also garnered the honor of being named the Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year and Daktronics all-American second. Everson's final accolade of the season was being named to the NSCAA South Central Region team. 2008: Everson began the 2008 season as the Southwest Soccer Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Everson did not disappoint as he began the season by scoring two back-to-back goals in WT's 6-0 shutout against Northeastern State. Later on in the season, Everson exploded on the pitch, scoring three of five goals in the Buffs 5-0 victory over UT-Permian Basin. With game winning goals, he continued to lead the team with 13 goals, 28 total points and 37 shots on goal earning the honor of the SSC Offensive Player of the Year. He also was named to the 2008 NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II Men's all-South Central Region Team. 2007: Everson made the most of his first season in Canyon, emerging as one of the country's leading goal scorers, recording 14 on the season to go along with his team leading point total of 31. In his first collegiate game, Everson scored the first goal of the season for the Buffs in a 2-1 victory over UT-Permian Basin. He had four multi-goal games on the season, leading WT to a share of the SSC Championship with rival Midwestern State. His goal tally puts him in a tie for sixth on the single-season goal list and eighth in points in a season in WT history. At seasons end, Everson was honored as a member of the NSCAA/Adidas All-Midwest Region first team, and was also names the SSC Freshman of the Year. High School: Everson graduated from Middlesbrough College (England) in 2005, and helped the squad win two National Championships in three National Finals appearances. Personal: Everson is the son of Malcom and Susan Everson, and has two siblings: Matthew and Esther-Jane. Everson is a Sports & Exercise Science major at WTAMU. |
