Men's Golf Team to Participate in Deerfield Inn/Drury Invite

After having last weekend off, the West Texas A&M University men's golf team will hit the road again (Oct. 12-14) to play in the Deerfield Inn/Drury Invite at Springfield, Mo. This will be the second to last tournament the men will play during the fall season.

WTAMU is coming off its best performance of the season, placing sixth out of 17 teams at the Northeastern State University Classic at Muskogee, Okla. on Sept. 29-30. The Buffs carded a combined team score of 904.

The top finisher for WTAMU was senior Josh Duckworth for the second time this season. Duckworth finished tied for 19th-place with a score of 226. Duckworth was challenged by two of his own teammates who finished two strokes behind him. Juniors Josh Luongo and Chris Washburn finished the weekend with scores of 228 tying them for 25th place. WTAMU's performance was rounded out by senior Jimmy Jameson carding a 230 to place tied for 38th place and freshman James Dillingham's 237, which tied for 66th place.

Following this weekend, the Buffs will travel to Ruidoso, N.M. to play their finial tournament of the fall at the Western New Mexico Tournament on Oct. 20-21.
