WTAMU Golfers On The Road For Invitationals

The West Texas A&M University golf teams hit the links this weekend for the second time this season.

The WTAMU men's golf team heads to the Oklahoma Intercollegiate in Lawton, Okla. starting Sunday (Sept. 21) for a three-day tournament. The men are coming off a successful opening tournament at the Coody Intercollegiate at Abilene, Texas last weekend. WTAMU finished tied for eighth place out of 16 teams. The strongest finisher for the men was junior Josh Luongo (Leander, Texas), who tied for ninth-place, shooting a 152.

The WTAMU women's golf team travels to the Northeastern University Women's Golf Classic at Muskogee, Okla., for a two-day tournament beginning Monday (Sept. 22). The women also opened their fall season last weekend with a successful trip to Gothamberg, Neb., where they played in the Nebraska-Kearney Tournament and placed fourth out of eight teams. The women were led by junior Meredith Easley (Amarillo, Texas). Easley, a national qualifer last year, started her year by finishing tied for fifth by shooting a 164.
