WTAMU Golf opened its fall schedule with a seventh place finish at the Charles Coody West Texas Intercollegiate

ABILENE, Texas - The West Texas A&M men's golf team finished seventh in its first action of the season as it ended play Tuesday at the Charles Coody West Texas Intercollegiate Tournament at the Diamondback Golf Club. The Buffs concluded play with a two-round total of 587, 21 strokes behind Abilene Christian, which won the tournament with a score of 566.

WTAMU was led by senior Kent Neal, who finished in a tie for second with Abilene Christian's Erik Manning -- both players shot a two-day total of 139. Neal was just two strokes behind the winner Curtis Harris of Abilene Christian, who won with a tournament score of 137.

WTAMU senior Spud Dillingham finished in the top 25 in a tie for 24th with a 147, after shooting a second round of 72. Junior Jon Musser was in a tie for 49th after shooting a 150. Freshman Roy Holdeman finished a just a stroke behind Musser, at 151 tying for 52nd. Rounding out the Buffalo scoring was sophomore Geoff Phemister, who tied for 64th with a two-round total of 155.
