CANYON, Texas - The West Texas A&M men’s golf team open their 2009 season with the two-day Charles Coody West Texas AInvitational, to be held at the Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene, Texas. The tournament begins Monday, September 14th and concludes Tuesday, September 15th.

This will be the Buffs' season debut under new head coach Brad Borden. Borden previously served as the West Texas A&M women’s golf coach from 2001-2005.

The Buffalos return four players from last season's squad: senior Jesse Ely (Odessa, Texas), junior Colin Cruz (Amarillo, Texas), and sophomores, Chad Cavallaro (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Chris Keirns (Thornton, Colo.). Newcomers include Johnny McMillen (Jr., County Armagh, Northern Ireland), Dustin Nelson (Jr., Cleburne, Texas), Nick Hagan (Fr., Lewisville, Texas) and Cody Williams (Fr., Amarillo, Texas).

Following the Charles Coody Invitational, the Buffs' next outing will be Sept. 21-22, when they compete in The Terroritory Collegiate Classic, to be held at The Territory Country Club in Durant, Okla.
